DRAFT MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING - Oct. 13, 2005

The Whitefish Area Trust Land Advisory Committee is a group of committed volunteers and concerned citizens who represent a cross-section of interest groups from the community. Since November of 2003, the Advisory Committee has been working with the DNRC to develop a land-use plan for the 13,000 acres of State Trust Lands surrounding Whitefish. The challenge is to develop a plan that represents the community values while also fulfilling the obligations of generating revenue for the State School Trust Fund.

The Goals & Policies provide the framework for the board to evaluate and review the land use proposals.

The Resource Documents offer insight and background to the history and precedent of similar issues that help shape the development of our current plan.

The Meeting Minutes are a valuable record of what has transpired in each official meeting of the board. They provide a clear record of the meeting discussion points empowering the public to closely follow the process and keep well informed.

The Forums are an opportunity for the entire community to engage in an open discussion, addressing specific aspects of the State Land Trust. The object is to articulate the community needs and values for the lands. The forums are broken down by mission statement, goals, policies and subareas. Please post your comments to the appropriate forum.

You can Contact Us with direct questions for the board. Your feedback is welcome.
